The Claire James Trio recently performed at a Proms Plus event at the Royal Albert Hall during the annual Proms season, and the live recording of the title track from their debut EP ‘Lines‘ was broadcast on BBC Radio 3 last week – you’ve got until tomorrow evening (Wednesday 3rd) to listen online via BBC iPlayer or take a listen to it below.
Its been a busy couple of weeks for the trio – as well as the recording of ‘Lines’ and the Proms Plus performance, they also played at the Manchester Jazz Festival last week. There’s some great photos of the gig by Phil Portus up on flickr, there’s one below and check the rest out here.
And don’t forget to listen/download ‘Lines‘ if you haven’t already…
2 years after our first ever gig opening the Manchester Jazz Festival, its a pleasure to have been invited back to close the 2010 festival! We’ll be playing alongside the Dark Knights of Soul at the Festival Pavilion in Albert Square – click here for more details.
Set starts 8.30pm, advance tickets £7.50 from Ticketline
In the run up to the Beats & Pieces Big Band playing at the Manchester Jazz Festival on Saturday July 31st, and to celebrate both the end of their UK tour and the 2nd anniversary of their first ever gig at the 2008 festival, we’ve invited some close friends of Efpi to have a go at remixing some tracks from the EP. We’re chuffed with how they’ve turned out, its really exciting for us and we can’t wait for you to hear them!
You can download (for free!) the first remix by Tullis Rennie now and we’ll be making one more available every week so check back every Wednesday to download the next… As always we’d love to know what you think!
