HAQ came about as a vehicle for exploring Sam and Anton’s compositions, whilst maintaining their love of free playing. The group has evolved from this initial idea to a point where each member is equally important, contributing compositions as well as giving themselves entirely to the music at all times. Freedom is still very much a part of the sound, using the written material to inform and inspire collective improvisations.
The group released their debut EP in July 2009, and their debut full length album “Walking, Walking, Falling” on 21st February 2011. Both are available from the Efpi Records shop.
