About Efpi Records

“A collective in all but name, Efpi is currently at the centre of some very creative music.” Manchester Evening News, 27/11/09

Established in Spring 2009, Efpi Records represents a group of Manchester based musicians and promoters exploring the various areas of improvised, jazz and experimental music. The founding members are Anton Hunter [The Noise Upstairs], Sam Andreae [Freedom Principle] and Ben Cottrell [Beats & Pieces Big Band], and it is now hard to find a young creative musician in the North-West of England that hasn’t been involved with us in some way.

Efpi was formed as un umbrella organisation to better promote both our own work and the work of musicians connected with us, across the UK and beyond. Successful UK tours by the Beats & Pieces Big Band and HAQ have spread the Efpi name, and we now enjoy healthy professional and artistic relationships with other UK musician-run organisations such as the F-IRE, Loop and Cobweb collectives. We are supported by funds generated largely from music sales and donations – you can purchase our releases here and make a donation via Paypal below.

Thanks for your interest in our work, and please contact us if you’re interested in what we’re doing!
