At the start of August we had the Beats & Pieces Big Band in the studio for a couple of days to record for an exciting upcoming release on Efpi Records. I’ve put up some pictures from the recording session, taken by Sam Healey, on the Beats & Pieces website – click on the photos link at the right hand side. Check back soon for more details about release dates etc!

New regular night run by “Metro Jazz” – a collective of Liverpool musicians, and getting a good buzz going already. It’ll be our first outing outside of Manchester, so we’re going to play extra-specially well for it.

This month’s free-improv jam comes with special guests from Sheffield ‘The Navigators’ aka Charlie Collins (drums), John Jasnoch (guitar) and Beatrix Ward-Fernadez (violin/theremin). And of course all the usual name-in-hat stuff.
Free to get in, bring instruments/voices/laptops/toys…
